Named for the 18th POTUS, Ulysses S. Grant, the building is actually much more modern - with construction starting in the 1970s. Information mostly deals with natural fires that are an important part of Yellowstone's ecosystem. On the consumer side, there's a restroom, gift shop, and exhibits. You can also buy permits here. Grant Visitor Center is located on the western shore of Yellowstone Lake, a short distance south of the West Thumb Geyser Basin. There are two directions from which to access Grant Village.
