Description:
Landmark 1850 Inn in Milwaukee, originally built around 1850 as the New Coeln House, began as a stagecoach stop and tavern serving travelers between Racine and Milwaukee. The Cream City brick building is one of the area’s oldest taverns and has long been a gathering place for locals. It was renamed Landmark 1850 Inn in 1983 after a careful renovation that preserved its vintage character. Today it serves classic comfort food such as Friday fish fry, burgers, pizzas, cheese curds, and fried shrimp baskets, making it both a historic site and a popular neighborhood restaurant.
