Description:

It looks like a hill but it's actually an ancient burial ground dating back to the 250 BCE. It was first discovered by European settlers in the 1700s and excavation was started 60 years later. What is now known is that the Adena people used over 60,000 tons of earth to build this mound. Inside, the large manmade hump contains human remains and artifacts many of which are displayed at the Delf Norona Museum.
