Description:
Dressed in his overalls and sporting his coal-miner's helmet with its working mounted flashlight, Charlie is the symbol of the Mountain State. With his lunch pail in hand, Charlie is ready to start his day. He was erected in 1999, a humble representation of the coal miner whose labor has helped heat the homes of millions of people.
