The Poe Museum

This museum was started in 1906 by a group of Poe enthusiasts who desired to establish a tribute to the dark author in his hometown. They were avid collectors also and amassed many of the items now housed here. Poe's Enchanted Garden is the centerpiece, being designed after the descriptions in Poe's poem "To One in Paradise." In true Poe-style, a maudlin touch was added to the garden - plants taken from his beloved mother's grave.
