The Delicate Arch is one of the most iconic and recognizable features of the park and has become a symbol of the state of Utah. The arch is free-standing and is approximately 52 feet tall and 32 feet wide. It is made of Entrada Sandstone which is a type of rock that was formed over 65 million years ago during the Jurassic period. The sandstone has been eroded over time by wind, water, and other natural forces which has created the unique shape of the arch.
