Cedar Breaks National Monument is a natural amphitheater located in southwestern Utah. The monument is located at an elevation of over 10,000 feet above sea level and spans over 3 miles in diameter with a depth of over 2,000 feet. The unique geologic formations of Cedar Breaks were formed over millions of years of erosion and geological uplift, resulting in the colorful, jagged rock formations that can be seen today. The monument is known for its spectacular views of red, orange, and pink rock layers as well as for its diverse plant and animal life. (Submitted by Louise C)
