Description:
1885 Steakhouse and Saloon in Hill City sits inside a historic log building constructed in 1885 by German immigrant Camillo Von Woehrmann, a structure that has served as a saloon, boarding house, newspaper office, and various commercial shops over the years. As one of the oldest continuously used commercial log buildings in South Dakota, it retains its rustic frontier charm and offers visitors a glimpse into early Black Hills life. Today the restaurant is known for hearty Western fare, with popular dishes including the Buffalo Ribeye, Honey Pecan Chicken, Lemon Butter Salmon, Cajun Walleye, and its Maple Cayenne Ribs smoked in house.
