Wally's Service Station

Goober worked here in the iconic "Andy Griffith Show." Fans of the old sitcom make regular pilgrimages to this gas station which operated in real life! Although Mayberry isn't real it was based on Mount Airy where Andy Griffith was born. In 2001, this gas station built in 1931 was converted into a tourist attraction.
