The Old Salem Pedestrian Bridge was created in 1998 through a project led by NCDOT. It serves as an overpass exclusively for pedestrians over the Old Salem Bypass, located between Walnut Street and Salem Avenue, and south of the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts' new extension. It's a significant landmark as it was the first to be constructed in North Carolina in the past 25 years and is one of only three in the state. (Submitted by Marcia Leonhard)
