This 1,243-foot long concrete segmental bridge winds its way around Grandfather Mountain. This major Blue Ridge construction project was completed in 1983 to the tune of 10 million dollars. To get to the Visitor Center head to the south side of the viaduct. You can hike underneath the viaduct to get a closeup look at it. While you're there you can also hike the scenic 13.5-mile Tanawha Trail.
