The Loop is a scenic section of the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road located in Glacier National Park. This section of the road is considered one of the most stunning and dramatic parts of the entire route. The Loop is a curved section of the road that was constructed in the 1930s as a way to navigate the steep terrain of the area. As drivers approach The Loop, they can see the road ahead appearing to disappear into the mountainside, before re-emerging higher up the slope. The Loop is so named because the road loops around itself in a dramatic and dizzying fashion, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
