Description:

The century-old one-lane truss bridge crosses the Gallatin River. The east end of the bridge is right next to the Axtell Bridge Fishing Site where you can find a small parking lot. It's a popular fly fishing location with plenty of fresh trout and whitefish populating the clear, cold water. The bridge itself has been deemed a safety hazard by the Montana DOT, but it is still in use by vehicles and pedestrians.
