This 630-foot stainless steel monument is the tallest arch in the world and the tallest monument in the Western Hemisphere. Finished in 1965, the arch has also been the scene of many incidents - including those carried out by would-be stunt performers. This St. Louis landmark can be viewed by hopping on a tram which takes visitors all the way to the top.
