Sandy Creek Covered Bridge

The vivid red color of the bridge is a perfect complement to the surrounding canvas of green summer woods. In the winter it is an eye-catching splash of color against the white Missouri winter. The original bridge was built in 1872, but was destroyed by high water. The second and current bridge was built in 1886. It is a rarity today, one of four remaining covered bridges in the state.
