This museum opened in 1926 as the Liberty Memorial and it's the official war memorial and museum dedicated to the Great War in the U.S. War buff or not the museum is filled with relics and detailed histories of the conflict and offensive campaigns - which give a great understanding of the events and their causes. Exhibits include a VR experience, uniforms, weapons, and an extensive gallery of photos. The grounds include a 32,000-square-foot (3,000 m2) facility across a glass bridge above a field of 9,000 red poppies, each representing 1,000 combatant deaths as well as the eye-catching 217-foot-tall memorial tower.
