Located at the entrance of the Minnesota Discovery Center just outside Chisholm, MN, the Iron Man statue stands as a monumental representation of an iron miner. Crafted by Jack E. Anderson in 1987, this impressive statue is 85 feet tall, with the figure itself reaching a height of 36 feet. Constructed from iron ore, the 36-foot tall brass and copper Iron Man is artfully positioned atop a 49-foot steel structure. A poignant tribute to the laborers who toiled in the open pit mines during the heyday of the mining industry on the Iron Range of northern Minnesota, this work of art is aptly titled "The Emergence of Man Through Steel."
