In a picturesque setting below the third highest hill in Minnesota stands a colossal 4,500-pound, 16.8-foot cement statue of Mary, meticulously landscaped around. The brainchild behind this awe-inspiring monument is Bill Danelke, whose life took a profound turn after a farming accident in 1953 left him with a cancerous jaw. Encouraged by his mother to pray the rosary daily, Bill made a vow to construct a statue honoring the Blessed Mother Mary. Keeping true to his promise, in 1992, he unveiled this remarkable tribute. The statue draws a steady stream of visitors, evidenced by the numerous signatures in the guest book from both locals and global pilgrims, showcasing its enduring significance and appeal.
