Grand Hotel

This historic hotel with its stunning Queen Anne architecture is located in the coastal resort town of Mackinac Island. It has been visited by VIPs such as Harry Truman, JFK, George HW Bush, and Bill Clinton - not surprising as Conde Nast listed it as one of the best hotels in the world. Transport to and from the dock are provided by horse-drawn carriages as motor vehicles are not permitted on Mackinac Island. (Submitted by Rebecca Ostlund)
