The Cheboygan Crib Light, located in Cheboygan, Michigan is a historic maritime structure built in 1884 on a wooden crib to guide ships safely through the challenging waters of Lake Huron and into the Cheboygan River. Unlike traditional lighthouses, it boasts a unique design, featuring a crib extending into the water with a tower at the end. Although automated today, it remains a symbol of the town's maritime heritage, attracting visitors and photographers. Efforts by the Friends of the Cheboygan Crib Light organization have helped preserve and restore this iconic landmark, emphasizing its significance in Michigan's maritime history.
