The Blair Witch's Hometown

Burkittsville, with its population of less than 200, all of the sudden found itself as a road trip stop in the 1990s. If you decide to make this part of your horror movie-themed trip too, you'll be sorely disappointed. Most of the movie was filmed elsewhere and the Blair Witch legend is false - kind of like a '90s version of Slender Man or a creepypasta story. Most of the so-called landmarks in the film do not exist in the real town of Burkittsville. The only real shots of Burkittsville in the movie are the "Welcome to Burkittsville" town sign and the cemetery behind St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
