Guard Gate and Wall

An impressive dam includes a stunning view and a picturesque "lock tender's shanty" on a bridge above the canal. This is part of the historic Chesapeake and Ohio Canal system which were built in the early 1800s. The park is a great place to visit in the summer - a cool and shady escape from the heat.
