Description:
A series of rushing rapids and waterfalls make up the Great Falls - carved out by the Potomac River 35,000 years ago. The craggy rock formations which contain the flowing waters are a great vantage point to view the river but the best scenic path is the Billy Goat Trail - a 5-mile strenuous hike.
