The Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse in South Portland, Maine was constructed in 1897-1898 and stands on a granite breakwater at the entrance of Portland Harbor. Initially operated by keepers, the lighthouse was automated in 1960. Over time, the structure deteriorated but was restored in the 1990s by the Spring Point Ledge Light Trust. It was relocated in 1999 to accommodate channel widening and opened for public tours in 2004. (Submitted by Kelli Seeman-Smith)
