Originally built in 1857, the Bangor Water Works building served as the factory setting for Stephen King's 1990 horror film "Graveyard Shift." This historic structure played a vital role in improving public health and supporting industrial growth by providing a water distribution system spanning more than 14 miles of pipes. Its primary purpose was to ensure that residents and businesses had access to clean water.
