Dog Slaughter Falls

Saves: 63

Despite the horrible name, this 3-mile trail is a beautiful place to spend the day especially with the enchanting secluded falls as part of the scenery. The name's origin is unknown but legend has it that many hunting dogs met their demise between the jaws and claws of wild animals. The wide, 20-foot cascade empties into the Cumberland River. You can go to the park any time of year but late spring will afford you the largest volume waterfall.
