The Shaka Sculpture

The Shaka Sculpture, also known as the "Hang Loose Sculpture" or "Spirit of Aloha Sculpture," was created by local artists Amber Cara Hickman and Athena Medina from Maui Art Life. Using reclaimed polystyrene from a movie set, they've crafted a remarkable piece of art located at Whalers Village on Ka'anapali Beach. Amber and Athena have collaborated on various mixed media installations and sensory experiences, aiming to create unique art that supports the local economy while reducing the carbon footprint. Their resourceful strategy and artistic vision shine through in their work.
