Makahuena Light

Since 1983 this beacon has been guiding ships sailing on the southernmost point of Kauai. Two predecessors stood here, the first one in 1905 and the second one in 1922. It provides a fantastic vantage point to watch the ocean waves during a glorious Hawaiian sunset. You can hike to the light via Shipwreck Beach where the trail begins.
