King Kong Mountain

The World Famous King Kong Peak, situated on the northeastern coast of Kauai within the Anahola mountain range, gained its iconic status from its resemblance to the head of the legendary movie ape in the 1976 film "King Kong". This mountain, also known as Kalalea, boasts two primary peaks - Hokualele and Mano, with the latter showcasing a shark-fin-like silhouette. Although the route to the top is impassable for hikers, a few daring climbers have attempted the arduous journey. Accessible by driving north from Kapaa on Highway 56, the mountain will be to your left past mile marker 14.
