The Devil's Millhopper Geological State Park is a Florida State Park located in Gainesville, Florida. The park is maintained by the Florida State Parks system. Navigate down 120 feet into Florida's giant sinkhole! On the way down you can see the geological record in the limestone sides of the sinkhole in the significant fossil remains. At the bottom of the sinkhole a pond is fed by 12 springs, some clearly seen; others not. There are nice walking trails around the sinkhole and the park itself is a nice picnic area. The temperature at the bottom drops some 20 degrees and the area feels much like a tropical rainforest. A very nice and scenic place to visit.
