The Last Resort Bar gained notoriety when serial killer Aileen Wuornos was captured there. Wuornos was accused of seven murders from 1989-1990 and was executed in 2002. After her execution, staff and patrons at the Last Resort near Daytona reported paranormal activity. The bar was also featured in the movie "Monster," for which Charlize Theron won an Academy Award, and served as a location for a Japanese film and various documentaries.
