Boneyard Beach

Not to worry - the name of this mile-long beach comes from the bleached oak branches that litter the sands, resembling the bones of long dead marine animals. However, paleontologists have also excavated mammoth bones here. While this isn't a great place for swimming, it's a popular place for photographers. (Submitted by Jose Medrano)
