Andrew Jackson Statue

Erected in the city named after him, this statue memorializes Andrew Jackson, the 7th POTUS. There's no denying he's a controversial figure and his statue has borne the brunt of postmodern disfavor. Because the city pays for maintenance and restoration the 2,800-lb statue looks much as it did when it was first installed in 1988. If you recognize its form, it's because it's a replica of the 1853 original that stands in Washington, D.C. (Submitted by Jose Medrano)
