Description:

Buckley's Tavern occupies a building from 1817 that originally served as a private home before becoming a toll stop and stagecoach rest point along Kennett Pike. It later operated as a taproom and ice cream shop until Dennis Buckley gave it its current name in 1951, and the tavern has been a local favorite ever since. Today it is known for hearty comfort food, with popular dishes such as crab cakes, fish and chips, mac and cheese, creamy mushroom soup, and its well loved open faced crab sandwich.
