Mesa Verde National Park protects over 4,000 archaeological sites which include 600 cliff dwellings that give us a look into the lives of the ancestral Pueblo people who made that area their home for over 700 years (A.D. 600 to A.D. 1300.). These are some of the best preserved cliff dwellings in the United States. Mesa Verde National Park is open year-round, excluding some facilities, tours, and archeological sites which are seasonal.
