Description:
Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse was founded on June 28, 1968 by Eleanor, Duke, and Randy Sherod, originally as a snack bar serving campers from nearby O’Neill Regional Park and locals of Trabuco Canyon. Over time it transitioned into a full dinner restaurant, with a guiding philosophy to “keep it simple, and do it right,” focusing on high quality USDA beef, mesquite charcoal broiling, and traditional sides. One of its most famous traditions is a “no tie policy”: if a guest arrives wearing a tie, it is cut off and hung from the ceiling among many others, a custom that has become part of the restaurant’s lore.
