Description:

The Thirsty Prospector in Sonora, California sits in one of the oldest surviving buildings in downtown, originally built around 1850 during the Gold Rush era and serving everything from a general store to a bank before becoming a saloon. After years under different owners and uses, it was rebranded under its current name and now operates as a family-owned pub that also celebrates its quirky past. Inside you’ll find a historic mahogany bar that survived both the Chicago fire and the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, alongside 12 beers on tap, scoops of ice cream, an eclectic bookshop and antiques. Locals and visitors enjoy the mix of craft brews, classic comfort food and browsing used books in a space that nods to Sonora’s mining-town roots.
