Description:

The Escondite opened in 2011 as a laid-back neighborhood bar and restaurant designed to feel like a true downtown hideaway near Little Tokyo and the Skid Row area often referred to as Skidrokyo. Its name means “hiding place” in Spanish, a nod to both its relaxed, welcoming vibe and its intentionally low-key exterior. The Escondite is easy to miss at first glance, but visitors know they’ve found it by spotting the simple blue arrow sign marking the entrance. It’s especially well known for its burgers, truffle fries, and late-night comfort food, which helped cement its reputation as a beloved local hangout with live music and skyline views from the patio.
