Pumpkin Rock

It's not certain when the tradition started but at some point in recent history someone thought it would be a good idea to paint this spherical boulder as a jack-o-lantern. Overlooking the valley it can be seen from a distance, its bright orange color standing out from the dry, neutral California landscape. It's also worth a detour just to hike up the boulder and have a clear view of the valley below. Don't be surprised if it is not a pumpkin when you visit - it is often painted and repainted depending on the whims of the local urban artists. (Photo by Otilia Baker)

Good hike! 💪🏼
It was pretty cool getting there. Just suggesting when you go bring a lot of water and good shoes because it’s slippery and a long home to get there.

Yay! Finally I see this awesome pumpkin rock, the hike up and down was crazy slippery at some points but worth it.

Awesome rock
The other pumpkin rock.
This rock was originally known as the 76 rock because Norco high class of 1976 painted it like the 76 gas station ball. It was changed to a pumpkin later and has been kept up by many different groups and individuals.🧡 this place holds a very special place in my heart.
