Point Mugu Rock

Saves: 56
Check-ins: 37
Near the Naval Air Station is a beach with a particularly eye-catching dome-shaped rock. It also is the end of the Santa Monica Mountains. It isn't a result of natural events occurring over tens of thousands of years. Instead, it was formed in 1937 when a road was made by blasting through rock around the promontory. There's a nice beach area that is less crowded than the beaches in Malibu and hours from 5 AM to 10 PM allow you to see as many glorious sunrises and sunsets as you wish.
