Description:
The Brookwood Covered Bridge, located in Bayside, California, spans Jacoby Creek and was constructed in 1967 by local residents Earl Biehn and Charles Roscoe. At 66 feet in length, it is one of the few remaining wooden covered bridges in Humboldt County and is considered the last authentic covered bridge built in California. In 2013, community efforts successfully halted plans to replace the bridge with a modern structure, emphasizing its cultural and historical significance to the area.
