The sprawling sculpture titled Colossal Cacti in downtown Indio, California features towering cactus-forms ranging from roughly 14 to 52 feet tall, arranged in a spiral plaza at the gateway to the city. Covered in vibrant hues and retro-reflective road-markers that echo cactus spines, the installation is both a bold landmark and an interactive gathering spot. Originally part of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival art program in 2019, it now invites locals and visitors alike to sit, capture photos, and enjoy the open-air plaza experience.
