Description:

The Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM) is a unique children's museum nestled at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge in Sausalito, California. Established in 1987, it offers a blend of indoor and outdoor experiences across 7.5 acres of National Park land, designed specifically for children aged 6 months to 10 years. The museum features seven exhibition spaces, including Art Studios, Bay Hall, Discovery Hall, Lookout Cove, Tot Spot, and Fab Lab, each tailored to different age groups and developmental stages.  In 2021, BADM underwent a $20 million renovation, introducing innovative exhibits like Gumnut Grove, an interconnected set of treehouses inspired by eucalyptus seed pods, encouraging children to explore and develop confidence in a safe environment.  Committed to inclusivity, the museum participates in the Museums for All program, offering discounted admission to low-income families, and provides free admission on the first Wednesday of select months for Bay Area residents.
