Description:

Discovered in 1928 by Leo Lambert, this 145-foot-high underground waterfall was named for his wife, Ruby. Because the cave has no easily accessibly openings, it couldn't be entered until the 20th century. Therefore, there are no ancient artifacts that have been found in other cave systems with natural openings. Beautiful and mysterious, Ruby Falls has been the subject of recorded songs and featured in music videos such as Mastodon's "Colony of Birchmen."
