Yorkie Doodle Dandy Memorial

This day in 2005 marks the dedication of a memorial honoring Smoky, famously known as the "Yorkie Doodle Dandy" of World War II. Smoky, a petite Yorkshire Terrier, bravely served alongside Corporal William "Bill" Wynne in the 5th Air Force, 26th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron.
